I used to teach physical education at a university. We were required to wear "street clothes" (skirts or dresses) when coming into or going out of the gymnasium, so we usually had a week's worth of activity clothes in our lockers. I was always late to school and had to hurry to dress into my teaching clothes. One day my colleagues sewed the inseams of all my shorts together and hid all the scissors, hoping I would have to hop to class or be very late. They did not know I always carried a small Swiss Army Knife, which truly bailed me out of a real predicament. Last laugh was on me.
