My Swiss Army Knife Story:
I am a retired interior finish and general building contractor from California, living in Arizona, and am now 70 years old. Since I started my business in 1972, and I purchased a huntsman victorinox knife about that time and gradually went up to the Junior Champion and finally to the big
Swiss Champ with the pliers. This little red devil has saved my bacon so many times, I can't even tell all the stories.
After crawling under a house for foundation repairs, I may have found myself short one of my tools, hack saw, wood saw, or wanting to shave a shingle to shim a beam or in the attic use the phillips screw driver to attach some flashing. God only knows how many trips back to my van for tools these knives have saved me. I preached victorinox knives to my workmen, and many of them started using them full time just like me. My current best friend, having seen me use the pliers to rescue my boarder collie from a mouth full of choia cactus quills, went out and bought one also.
I bought a small Victorinox with 1 blade, bottle opener, etc., and of course the cork puller, when my wife and I were in Hamburg, so I could peal and apple, cut some cheese, and open a bottle of wine while we wound our way down the A 7 Auto baun in a rental Lexus for a 3 week tour of Germany. in 2000. And would do the same now if I had to leave my Swiss Champ or its Junior friend, that I carry here, behind on my next trip to Europe.
Mc giver ain't got nothing on me, because anything he has thought up to do with his Victorinox, I have topped a dozen times. I LOVE THEM
