I’ve been carrying a Swiss Army knife of some sort or another for close to 20 years now. Much of that time it’s been a Tinker my dad got for me and that one carried me all through college and on every military deployment I ever made with the Reserves. It was a constant companion and used for a myriad of odd jobs over the years.
In more recent years I’ve branched out to the point that I now have an extensive Swiss Army knife collection and they still see regular daily use. As a police officer I find myself frequently carrying a One Handed Trekker and often going to my Swiss Army knife to open packages, cut straps and cords, take off license plates, tighten up grip screws and various gear fasteners and sometimes even open up a can or an adult beverage after work! I have a lot of cutlery these days but you’ll rarely find me without a SAK of one sort or another in my pocket whether it’s at work, working around the house, or out camping and hiking in the woods.
